The Adversary was the primary rival of the All-Maker, god of the Skaal, an isolated tribe of Nords. They believed the Adversary took delight in tormenting and testing them to ensure that they do not become lazy and weak. The Greedy Man was another name by which the Adversary was known as to speak his name was thought to expose the Skaal to his evil ways.
