Found alongside Farkas and Ria, Aela is a huntress fighting a Giant. When spoken to, she says she is part of the Shield Brothers and if you are interested, speak to the leader of The Companions. Aela is also a werewolf which is discovered during the Companions questline. She is also one of the NPCs who can be married if you have equipped the Amulet of Mara before speaking to her, however you must have finished the Companions quest line before the option becomes available. Also Aela is a great bow user making her the ideal companion for close combat players and at close range combat she can easily kill enemies.
Once the Dawnguard DLC is installed, a player who has been cured of being a Werewolf can approach her to receive the gift a second time. She admonishes the player for being fickle but will pass the blood on again if they so choose.
She also wears Ancient Nord Armor.
