Lord Harkon is the leader of the Volkihar Vampire Clan in the Dawnguard DLC. His wife is Valerica and they have one daughter, Serana. All three are Vampire Lords.
Harkon, while powerful and wise, is also increasingly isolated. He is estranged from his wife and daughter, and faces rivalry for his throne within the clan. This is because of his ever-increasing obsession with an ancient prophecy connected to the Elder Scrolls, which promises to vanquish the power of the sun over all of vampire kind.
