Frost Salts are an ingredient used to craft potions for Alchemy. These are dropped by Frost Atronachs but can also be found scattered around various shops in Skyrim or made in the Atronach Forge.
Frost salts are also used as an ingredient in three Atronach Forge Recipes, one Resist Frost Potion Recipe and Dravynea the Stoneweaver requires a sample.

- A unique variant of Frost Salts called "Farengars Frost Salts" are given to the Dragonborn by Farengar Secret-Fire for delivery to Arcadia. With the exception that they cannot be eaten, they are identical to normal frost salts.
