Girduin is only encountered as a ghost as the Dragonborn witnesses a retelling of what happened in Labyrinthian years earlier. He is the very first mage to die on this ill-fated expedition into the Labyrinthian, he probably did not survive the encounter with the Skeletal Dragon.
