Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

After arriving in Solitude, depending on whom the Dragonborn meets and in which order, the Dragonborn either learns that Jaree-Ra is looking to hire someone. From the Argonian himself or one of the people at The Winking Skeever.

Speaking with the Argonian reveals the he wants the signal fire in the local lighthouse extinguished which will cause incoming ships to run aground. These grounded ships can then be looted. Jaree-Ra also assures the Dragonborn that no one will be harmed in this process (sure he does).

Put out the fire in the Solitude Lighthouse[edit | edit source]

If the Dragonborn chooses to accept, go to the Solitude Lighthouse and extinguish the signal fire.

Return to Jaree-Ra[edit | edit source]

Once the deed is done, Jaree-Ra can be informed. However, the Argonian is already aware and tells the Dragonborn that the Icerunner has already run aground and sends the Dragonborn his sister, Deeja, at the wreck.

Find Deeja at the Wreck of the Icerunner[edit | edit source]

After locating the wreck, the Dragonborn finds it surrounded by Blackblood Marauders and it soon becomes clear that the crew was murdered. Deeja is indeed there, but just laughs at the Dragonborn's naïveté.

Defeat Deeja[edit | edit source]

Now that the game is up, the Dragonborn must kill Deeja and her crew of bandits.

Find out where Jaree-Ra's bandits took the loot[edit | edit source]

Once Deeja is dead, her remains can be looted for a Note From Jaree-Ra which reveals that the double-crosser has fled to Broken Oar Grotto.

Travel to Broken Oar Grotto[edit | edit source]

Broken Oar Grotto is a cave located on the north coast, directly north of the city of Solitude.

Defeat Jaree-Ra[edit | edit source]

In order to defeat Jaree-Ra, the Dragonborn fights through a number of Blackblood Marauders first, to then take out the Argonian.
