Niruin is a member of the Thieves' Guild and trains any members in Archery. He can usually be found sitting on the edge of the cistern or shooting at target dummies nearby.
He was originally from Valenwood, where he was living the life of a rich heir before he got bored worked freelance for a local gang of thieves and the Dark Brotherhood. When his father found out he was given a choice of leaving or going to jail. He chose the former and used his contact with Delvin Mallory and Gallus Desidenius to join the Thieves' Guild in Skyrim.
Niruin can be a source of free Steel Arrows. When he is practising, the player can walk up to the training dummy and collect the arrows he fires.
He suggests using the training room to brush up on lockpicking, should that be necessary.
