I am Queen of Solitude, daughter of the Emperor! Summon the daedra! I'll trade the soul of every last subject of mine for a little comfort.

— Queen Potema, 3E 97

Queen Potema, also known as the "Wolf Queen of Solitude", was a necromancer who lived from 3E 67 – 3E 137. She was in fact born into the Septim family, and therefore was Dragonborn. Hence, if she were to return to the land of Tamriel during the Fourth Era, she would actually be the legitimate Empress. Of course due to her evil predilections such a reappearance would be a calamity, which almost did occur except for the intervention of the current Dragonborn.

Trivia[ | ]

  • The Wolf Queen of Solitude is known to be the cause of some of the Nord peoples' hatred of magic, a hate which would continue to grow for a time.
  • During the Siege of Solitude Queen Potema while disguised, roamed the streets of Solitude, there she discovered the Prince Pelagius. She then proceeded (unbeknownst to the child) to change the enchantment of her Soul Gem Amulet from that which would allow her to charm any to one which would slowly warp the user's mind. She gave this amulet to the unknowing child as a gift. Thus creating the Historic Emperor Pelagius the Mad.

Media[ | ]

  • A copyright of 'The Wolf Queen' was rumored to have been made by Bethesda Game Studios in conjunction with a number of TV developers and Publishers. Information considering this was found several times in late 2012/early 2013 but was never proven true.
