The Black Star is a reusable Black Soul Gem obtained from The Black Star quest by returning the Broken Azura's Star to Nelacar at the The Frozen Hearth inn in Winterhold. Though by doing this it loses its connection with Azura, it still counts as a Daedric Artifact. It is also worth noting that it can hold lesser souls, like a regular black gem can, despite what Nelacar says at the end of the quest.
