Walkthrough[]

This quest begins when the Dragonborn asks Kleppr at the Silver-Blood Inn if there are any jobs available. The innkeeper then directs him to Brother Verulus at the Hall of the Dead.

Once at the Hall of the Dead, Brother Verulus mentions that it appears that something is eating the dead and asks the Dragonborn for help.

Inside, the Dragonborn hears a disembodied female voice which says:

"Not many would walk blindly into a crypt, smelling of steel and blood, but not fear. I feel the hunger inside of you. Gnawing at you. You see the dead and your mouth grows wet. Your stomach growls. It's all right. I will not shun you for what you are. Stay. I will tell you everything you have forgotten."

Then Eola appears and tries to convince the Dragonborn to clear the meeting place where she and her fellow cannibals meet.

Clear the Draugr from Reachcliff Cave[]

If the Dragonborn accepts, Eola sends the Dragonborn to Reachcliff Cave to clear out the Draugr.

Speak to Eola[]

Once this is done, the Dragonborn must report back to Eola, who by then has also reached the cave. She then instructs the Dragonborn to bring Brother Verulus to the cave.

Convince Verulus to follow you[]

The Dragonborn then heads back to Markarth and either bribes, persuades or intimidates the priest into following him back to the cave.

Kill Verulus[]

Once in the cave, Brother Verulus is quite accommodating and walks up to the altar and lies down. Then Namira, the Lady of Decay instructs the Dragonborn to kill the priest and then feast on his dead flesh.

Feast on Verulus[]

If the Dragonborn feasts on his victim, he receives the Ring of Namira (a Daedric Artifact) and then meets the other members of the coven. These members include: Sanyon, Lisbet, Hogni Red-Arm, Banning and Nimphaneth, each of whom makes some comment regarding their habits. In particular, Lisbet suggests that her husband did not simply disappear and was probably delicious and Hogni suggests that the "raw beef" he sells may not be what it seems...
